Promote Professionalism

Our students are best served by hiring and retaining the best educators.  As a governing board member, I will support our experienced professionals and do my utmost to direct funding to the classrooms where students benefit most.  Working collaboratively with SUSD staff, I will maintain our current excelling programs and seek new innovative opportunities that will best serve our students and drive enrollment.  

Our teachers are professionals. Our district administrators are professionals. We trust that they are using their education and experience to teach our children math, history, English literature and develop critical thinking skills…the hallmarks of a top notch education. A school board’s purpose is to provide the guardrails necessary to make sure that those professionals have the resources to do their jobs as designed. A school board should respect their professionalism, not work against them.
